Cookie Policy
Last reviewed 26 October 2026
This site is a set of static files. It keeps two small values in your browser and sets no cookies of its own. This page explains what those values are, what would happen if a measurement tag were added, and how to refuse them all.
The two keys we use
- tr_age_ok
- Local storage. Written when you confirm you are 18 or over. Value "yes". No expiry; it stays until you clear site data.
- tr_consent
- Local storage. Written when you press Accept or Decline in the cookie bar. Value "granted" or "denied". Stays until you clear site data or change it.
Both live in local storage (they are not cookies), so they are never attached to a request and never travel to our server. They sit on your device and only this site can read them. Every read and write is guarded: a browser that refuses storage, as a private window does, is asked again on the next visit and the site carries on working.
Consent Mode v2
Before anything else loads, each page declares a set of Google Consent Mode v2 defaults: ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage are all set to denied, with a short wait so that a tag cannot slip in ahead of the answer. That declaration is all that runs. Pressing Accept sends a consent update switching those four to granted; pressing Decline sends the same update leaving them denied. Your answer is remembered in tr_consent.
What would be set if you accept
No measurement or advertising tag is installed today. If one is added, it would be Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, and this is what they would write, after you accept and not before:
- _ga
- Google Analytics. Distinguishes one browser from another. Two years.
- _ga_<id>
- Google Analytics 4 session state. Two years.
- _gid
- Google Analytics. Distinguishes browsers within a day. 24 hours.
- _gcl_au
- Google Ads conversion linker. Ninety days.
If you decline, none of them is written, and this site has no "legitimate interest" route around that answer.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. The bar comes back and whichever button you press overwrites the stored answer straight away. Clearing site data in your browser also works, and resets the age confirmation at the same time.
Blocking storage in the browser
Every current browser can block cookies and site data per site or in general. In Chrome it is under Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies and Site settings. In Firefox, Settings, Privacy & Security, Cookies and Site Data. In Safari, Settings, Privacy, and Manage Website Data. In Edge, Settings, Cookies and site permissions. The only cost of blocking storage for this site is that the age notice appears on every visit.
What this site does not use
- No social network pixels, whether from Meta, X, LinkedIn, TikTok or Pinterest.
- No device or canvas fingerprinting, and no attempt to recognise you without storage.
- No session recording, heatmaps or mouse tracking.
- The only advertising tags that could ever load are the Google ones described above, and only after consent.
- Nothing is loaded from another company's servers: fonts, scripts, maps, videos and images all come from this domain, so no third party learns that you visited by having a file fetched from them.
